IBMC - Instituto de Biologia Molecular e Celular Master fellowship (f/m)

Internal Code: Norte2020NEURO61 Project: NORTE-01-0145-FEDER-000008 – Porto Neurosciences and Neurologic Disease Research Initiative at i3S Scientific Service/Unit and head: HEMS/Rui Fernandes IBMC/I3S is opening 1 (one) Master Fellowship to join its Histology and Electron Microscopy Service (HEMS). Initially for 6 moths, the fellowship may be renewed for a maximum of 17 months. The fellowship pays 980 euros per month, preferentially paid by bank transfer. Fellowships are regulated by current laws relating to the Statute of Science Research Fellows, namely Law 40/2004 of August 18, amended and republished by Decree-Law No. 202/2012 of 27 August and the Regulation of Scientific Research Studentships of IBMC approved by Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/docs/RegulamentoBolsasFCT2015.pdf) The candidates must hold a Master degree in Biology or related field, solid laboratory experience and at least 2 years hands-on experience in electron microscopy. Work plan: The successful applicant will provide support to the research activities offered at HEMS, which may include: embedding and sectioning procedures, chemical staining methods, and ultrastructural analysis using transmission electron microscopes. In addition the successful applicant may be trained to support HEMS users in the development of research projects involving electron microscopy.
