MATERIAL EVENT Banif - Banco Internacional do Funchal SA Informs About Fitch Ratings Update Banif – Banco Internacional do Funchal, SA, (‘Banif’) informs that, on this date, Fitch Ratings announced the conclusion of its ratings review of Portuguese Banks. This review results from an update of its methodology resulting from the implementation of EU’s Banking Recovery and Resolution Directive (BRRD) and Single Resolution Mechanism (SRM), and includes the European banking entities covered by this agency. In this context, Fitch reaffirmed Banif’s Viability Rating (VR) at ‘B-‘, and downgraded the Long-Term Issuer Default Rating (IDR) to ‘B-‘ from ‘BB’.
