In compliance with the provisions of article 248 of the Portuguese Securities Code (Código dos Valores Mobiliários), Caixa Económica Montepio Geral (‘CEMG’) hereby informs that in July 11, 2016, all necessary legal and operational procedures for the closure of its Cayman Islands branch were concluded. The aforementioned closure follows from the implementation of CEMG’s 2016-2018 Strategic Plan, approved at CEMG’s Extraordinary General Meeting held on December 30, 2015, and will contribute to reduce CEMG’s compliance risks.
