HISTORY OF GAMES INTERNATIONAL In 1957, the Bahia made a European tour, playing 29 matches. The tricolor faced the biggest rival Shakhtar, Dynamo Kiev. The Ukrainian team won 3 to 1. As early as 1960, in another trip to the mainland, again faced the Dynamo and was defeated by 4-1. The first time the Bahia played an international tournament was in 1960. As the tricolor won the 1959 Brazil Cup, the first Brazilian champion in history, had the honor to represent Brazil in the first Copa Libertadores in 1960. In this edition, the Tricolor faced the San Lorenzo of Argentina and was also eliminated in the first round, losing 3-0 in Almagro and winning by 3-2 in Salvador. Three years later, in 1964, the Bahia again played in the World Cup, this time for being Brazilian runner-up in 1963, losing to Santos of Pelé, Coutinho and Pepe in the final of the national tournament. Again the Tricolor was eliminated in the first round, this time to Deportivo Italia. In 1964 the Tricolor disputed a competition in USA, the ISL (International Soccer League). This tournament existed for 5 years, from 1960 until 1965 and included teams from various continents. The format of that competition was similar to the current FIFA World Club. The "Esquadrão" played six matches and faced teams like the Wender Bremen, from Germany, and the Blackburn, from England. The forward Hamilton, third top scorer in the club history, was one of the lineups of that team. That was the first time that a shirt completely red with blue details was dressed. After being Brazilian champion in 1988, the Bahia played in the Libertadores for the third time in its history. In the first phase, the Tricolor formed the Group 2 along with Deportivo Táchira and Marítimo, Venezuela, in addition to Internacional de Porto Alegre, Brazil. In the 8th-finals, the Tricolor eliminated the Universitario of Peru and again faced the Internacional, this time in the quarterfinals. In the first game, in Porto Alegre, lost 1-0, and in the return game tied for 0-0, and eliminated from the competition. In 2012, 2013 and 2014, the Tricolor returned to acting in international tournaments, playing the Copa Sudamericana. In 2015, Bahia played a friendly game against Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukrania) at Arena Fonte Nova. Bahia won the game for 3-2 scored by Rômulo, midfield, and Zé Roberto, forward (2). In 2016, the Tricolor returned to the United States, playing a friendly against Orlando City. The game finished 6 to 1 for the American team.

OUR CITY
- Famous for the beaches, receptivity of the people and rich culture, Salvador was the first capital of Brazil --that condition only changed in the late 18th century. - Besides that, the State of Bahia is where Brazil was discovered by the Portuguese in 1500. - Now, Salvador is the third most populous city in the country with 3 million inhabitants, after São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, and known by the biggest street carnival of the world. - Home of renowned artists such as João Gilberto, father of Bossa Nova; Caetano Veloso, exponent tropicalist; and Olodum, icon band for samba-reggae which has played with Michael Jackson, Paul Simon and Jimmy Cliff. - Founded on 29th March 1549 (466 years), was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. - Was also the first slave port in the Americas. Therefore, the African influence of the slaves' descendants makes it a center of Afro-Brazilian culture. - And Porto da Barra Beach has been named one of 50 best beaches in the world by CNN.
OUR STADIUM
- Arena Fonte Nova received 6 games during the Brazil's World Cup, in 2014, and will host 10 more matches for the Olympic Games this year. - Curiously, the place registered its audience record on a duel right between USA and Belgium in World Cup: 55,000 spectators. - On the occasion, through Twitter, the US Soccer federation and the coach Jürgen Klinsmann thanked the support of all Bahia’s fans and reaffirmed the coincidence between the colors of the team and the country. - Klinsmann has even been presented with a team shirt and exhibited the piece on Internet. - Another curiosity is that in 2013 the football player Freddy Adu played for the “Tricolor”. - Bahia has 6 million supporters and 15 thousands of memberships.
The coach Guto Ferreira defined the list of players that will travel to the United States, where Bahia dispute the Florida Cup. The coach called 28 athletes for the tournament. 9 of the 28 named players was formed in the youth system of the club.
